The final year - project 1

The induction project for the final year of Games Development has just ended, we received our first project recently, to create a physical and digital bust model of ourselves. Zombified!

This project is mainly focusing on 3D modelling and understanding the anatomy of faces, understanding the muscle structure under the skin.

So far we have taken orthographic pictures of our faces (front, side, 45 angle) and are going to edit them to create our zombie reference!

Before i Zombify my face, i have been getting used to 3D sketch software, unfortunately i cant afford to buy Z-brush, and am waiting until we start the digital models to download the 1 month trial. So i have been using Sculptris, made by Pixelogic just like Z-brush but free.

Here is a 3D sketch of a head i created quickly to get used to the software and get a better look at facial anatomy:









I know the anatomy isnt perfect, there arent that many tools in Sculptris this makes it difficult to make anything. I am still pretty pleased with the results here and am looking forward to starting the official model in Z-brush!
